Jerome Bettis on the Steelers Offensive Line…

What do you think of what Jerome Bettis said this week in SI?

“The bigger problem, though, is the offensive line. They have no continity…. They’re letting running backs get his before they reach the line of scrimage.  There’s not a lot any back can do in that situation. This problem isn’t anything new, and I blame the coaching staff for not addressing the line in the offseason. How did they rationalize not doing anything about it? Well, they won a Super Bowl. They won’t be so lucky twice in a row. If Ben continues to get hit the way he did Thursday — the same way he did last year, then this will come back to haunt the Steelers. Ben will get hurt. Ben will miss games. And they don’t have a line to run behind without Ben. Pittsburgh can’t repeat with the line playing like this.” ~Jerome Bettis

I think he’s on the right track, but I don’t blame the men under the helmets. I blame the coordination. Our running game and our qb protection has been shaky since Arians arrived.

Pittsburgh City of Champions Wallpaper

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penguins have done the Steel City proud, winning the Superbowl and the Stanley Cup in the same year.

That makes Pittsburgh Sixburg, when it comes to Lombardi trophies. And three rings around the Stanley Cup for the Penguins is something to crow about.

This Steeler / Penguins Wallpaper has been floating around in email for a while. Don’t you love the image with the Three Rivers and the Golden Triangle? It has a great glow.

I thought I’d post it here.
