In the spring of 2017 the old cottage was removed and a new one was built on the existing floor . The builder was Melvin Mast Construction from Luthersburg, Pa.
The cottage location is very ideal as it’s on high ground and parking is very accessible. The front yard has a very small area that needs attention (weed-eater or small mower) and the back is maintained by the campground. It is located close to the Dining Hall, Youth TAB and Children’s Playground. Sleeps +11, stove, refrigerator and hot water tank are included. Durable lifetime Metal roof and siding, the underside of cottage is insulated & protected with rat guard wire. The entire cottage is insulated, all the windows are double panes and easy to use/clean. The front porch is covered and the roomy back porch is ready for family, friends and visitors. I have all the photos of the build showing the location of all the water lines.
First Floor:
Living Room, Kitchen, Bedroom with 1/2 bath, and Full bathroom off of hallway.
This is an open floor plan. Comes with a Pub table with 4 bar stools and a drop down/lift up work table in the kitchen area. There is an electric stove/oven, & refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen top/bottom cabinets are beautiful knotty pine, the sink is a modern black with faucet/spray hose.
There is an air-conditioner located in the main living area window that works beautifully to keep this area nice and cool. A private hallway leads back to the bedroom. This room has 1 Queen Bed, a cupboard closet, & a storage cubby under the stairs, including a 1/2 bath tucked under the staircase. The full bathroom has an incased shower, pedal-stool sink and toilet. On the back porch there is an outside entry to the electric hot water heater, the shutoffs, and extra storage. The porch has a swing, picnic table, & a railing on the one side for safety.
Second Floor:
The stairs are located directly inside the front door to the left. The front bedroom comes with a “loft” area perfect for a bed or storage area & a small cubby for storage.
Then down the very short hallway is the large open Bedroom area (no closet). There are 2 windows that look out over onto the walkway near the dining hall.
Please note: When we had this cottage built there wasn’t time to install the trim before camp started, so, if you want trim that will need to be installed at your convenience and cost.
This shaded cottage will provide a comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy Mahaffey Camp week as well as other times you are able to “get away from it all.
Access to view the cottage will be arranged at your convenience.
