For some prioritization seems to come naturally. They do it almost instinctively. At the other end of the spectrum are those who don’t give prioritization any thought. But Jesus wanted his followers to have their priorities in order — and he wanted it to be more intentional than instinctive.

Polls tell us that everyone is distressed by what is happening in our country — politically, economically, and socially. Whose fault is it? The President? Congress? Corporate America? Hollywood? We like finding someone to blame. But rather than placing this on a select group of people I wonder if it’s not appropriate to place it on the backs of humanity in general. If you believe the doctrine of Total Depravity to any degree, you know this is a worthy consideration.
According to CNN, a national poll suggests that two-thirds of Americans are scared about the way things are going in the U.S. Not only are Americans scared, the pollster is scared about their scaredness:
“It’s scary how many Americans admit they are scared,” said Keating Holland, CNN’s polling director.
