Bikers Freedom Ride…

From The Mahaffey News

July 19, 2008 – Once again this year, Mahaffey Camp will reverberate with the thunder of motorcycles on Sunday, July 20 as The Freedom Ride — the Mahaffey Camp Morotcycle Run — arrives at the camp between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.

Everyone is encouraged to fly flags at their cottages or RVs.  And plan to dress in patriotic attire as we welcome the cyclists and celebrate the freedom we enjoy in America — and more importantly, the freedom we enjoy in Christ!

Second seating for dinner in the Dining Hall will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Celebration of Freedom Service at 2:30 p.m. in the Main Tabernacle.

  1. Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?

  2. We saw a group of these people at the Dutch Pantry Sunday…I wondered if they were heading for Mahaffey.

Pastor Steve, did you take your motorcycle?

  3. Allen — It’s because we park in drive ways and drive on parkways.

Wendy — I left it under the cover. It’s a nice motorcycle, but a little out-classed when real bikers are around.
