Standing for Everything — Falling for Anything…

The LA Times reports that a historically Christian organization, Claremont Seminary is offering clerical training for Muslims and Jews.

In my estimation, this is classic theological liberalism. The thinking goes, “We need to be broader in our thinking and more accepting of other faiths. They are equally important, true, and viable.” Considering all faiths as true is logically contradictory and intellectually dissatisfying. Better, it’s intellectually dishonest. Two logically contradictory statements cannot both be true, no matter how much one longs for this to be so.

Kudos to the Methodist Church for suspending their support of Claremont.

As is often the case, the cliché is correct: Standing for everything is equivalent to falling for anything.
